3/17/08 I am proud to announce that Funky Ass Fredrick & the Groove Funk Machine will be soon be releasing dates for their reunion tour. Locations are being looked into, so far we have promising responces from the tree-fort in the Neil's backyard. Expect more info soon and maybe some new material from FAF&TGFM. Opening acts will be And the Dawn Broke Fervently and Tim Bergeron & the Russell Crowes. 1/24/07 FAF finally got a gig. We will be playing at the LHS prom fashion show on February 7. We'll be playing a short set during the intermission, and we will be sporting some fine tuxedos to go along with the amazing tunes we have ready for this show. Scott will also being playing a gig with a trio at the 119 gallery on Feb. 16, FAF will not be performing, but expect FAF to have shows there in the future. 12/4/06 It has been a while since we last updated. We have had a handful of shows, including 1 at Brewd and two more treefort gigs. We are looking to book gigs at 119 Gallery in downtown Lowell with Tim Bergeron. We will hopefully be writing and recording more music to accompany our already extensive collection of original material. Check back for more info on shows, we'll try to keep the site updated on all thats goin on. 1/02/06 Eyo, the News Year's gig went great, it was dope for the Truth Behind to let us open it up for them. We're gonna be recording now, our tour manager is trying to hook us up with some recording time, and in the meanwhile we'll keep recording in shitty quality on the computer. Look for a new song out this weekend. Next month is our second Brew'd Show, so we'll be learning some new songs for that, and look for maybe a PAV Club appearence sometime in January. Thats it for now. PEACE. 12/26/05 W're changing our name again to Funky Ass Fredrick and Neil's a Gay Fag, because Neil likes to drive on the highway. 12/10/05 We're changing our name to Funky Ass Fredrick and the Gay Fags, because Neil likes to stay at home after he showers and Nate loves puppies and likes to fag out. 11/27/05 Well, first of all, I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the Treefort Gig and rocked out with us in the freezing cold, it was nuts. I'd also like to thank The Truth Behind for comin out and putting on an amazing first show, and for helpin us out with anything. And, on that, I'd like to tell you guys that The Truth Behind is thinking of putting on a holiday show, so listen up for that. Funky Fred is going to start writing some new music and finish recording the demo we started about a year ago and we have another show in February at Brew'd Awakenings. We recorded the vocals for the choruses and the rest should be done by Tuesday. It is called "Time Dancer." When the vocals are done the lyrics wil be up and so will the song on PureVolume. 4/27/05 We recorded drums tonight for a new song were recording. 4/4/05 We jammed Saturday and Sunday. We recorded one of the jams, but we couldn't get it to flow good, and it turned out awful. Check out our PureVolume page to listen to it. More music to come soon(soon meaning April). 2/22/05 Started to record again. But this time none of it sucked, except maybe some of Neil's freestyles. But we recorded a song, Spring Breeze. The lyrics for it are up under the lyrics section, we should have it up some where on the web once we tweak it a bit. But, dude, that shits TNT. 2/5/05 Started to record. But it all sucked. Not the music, that shit rocks SO hard, but the quality sucked major leage yabbos. But we did get some freestyles and battles down, so keep watching for those to be up soon(OMG They might be on our ALBUM) 
1/24/05 Scott, Neil, and myself, myself being Matthew, went on a search for inspirado today. We came back with elevendy seven pictures, but no music. We did have a cool jam going, but it led to nothing; we also worked on another song, then we realized that we only had one part in it. The search for insrirado was a failure, Funky Fred is a failure, but we will go on, oh yes, we will go on. 1/14/05 We set up a Live Journal link. We use it for smaller and more often updates. 1/9/05 Nate broke his arm or wrist or something, Neil broke him amp, but our band's still rad. This band isn't. Old News |
